Having a home business is something everybody working a 9-to-5 job would love to do. Being able to be your own boss, make your own hours and spend time with your family whenever you want to. In order to develop a successful home business you need a plan, not just any plan a good plan.



#1 -- Office Lighting



This may not seem like a big deal, but office lighting is a key factor in work efficiency. Basically the darker your room is the more your eyes work, the more your eyes work, the more fatigued you become.



Sufficient office lighting will help you save energy and focus better enabling you to increase work efficiency and become more successful.



#2 -- Take Breaks



Studies have shown working in small increments increases work efficiency as well, working in short one-hour time blocks will allow you to do the most productivity for your time. After each hour be sure to take a 10 minute break. This allows you to refresh, clear your mind and regain your focus.



If you'd like to be even more efficient, plan your hours at a time, almost like the minutes of a meeting. Write down what you'd like to accomplish each hour and focus on. Don't let anything get in your way, turn off your phones, don't surf the web, don't watch television, you're working at nothing is going to get your way.



#3 -- Time It



Working in one-hour increments and timing each increment allows you to see exactly how much time you have left for each particular task enabling you to get the most out of your time.
